Product Overview

One of the most common small duties we see on hot water orders is 6.3 m³/h at 20 m. A recent order asked for exactly that, in a vertical hot water pipeline pump, for water from -20 to 80 °C, with an NPSH requirement of 2.5 m.

The pump that fits

The 40-125 frame is rated 6.3 m³/h at 20 m with a 1.1 kW motor, 46% efficiency, and needs 2.3 m NPSH. Its 40 mm ports suit the pipe sizes usual on loops of this size.

Points to check on a heating loop

  • Temperature range: state the highest and the lowest. A loop that may freeze when idle needs to be drained or protected
  • System pressure: in a closed loop the static pressure adds to the pump head, and the total must stay within 1.6 MPa
  • NPSH: hot water boils at lower pressure, so the pump needs more pressure at its inlet as the temperature rises

The installation height guide shows how hot water changes the allowable suction height.

Typical Applications

  • small heating loops
  • hot water circulation
  • domestic and hotel hot water
